This seems quite problematic to Trump’s defense about ousting Yovanovitch.

“I believed that I needed Yovanovitch out of the way,” Giuliani said. “She was going to make the investigations difficult for everybody.”

NEW: Rudy expands on this to NYT tonight & provides a more extensive timeline.

He says he told Trump multiple times that Yovanovitch was an impediment to the investigations. Trump then put Rudy in contact w/ Pompeo.

Yovanovitch was gone “within weeks.”
