#Transideology subverts in ways we have seen before

Call people names, smear reputations, punish heretics.

Faced w threat & fear many people will stay silent and out of trouble. Others will recite the words & point fingers, some will truly believe in the existence of witches
Nobody wants to be called a transphobe.

And defending someone who has been called a transphobe will get you called a transphobe.

"There are extremists on both sides" is a comforting rationale for staying silent, or even for pointing fingers.
This is a story about two people who have pointed the finger at me. Firstly there is @JolyonMaugham (Tax barrister, of #FoxingDay fame).

Jolyon believes that he occupies the middle ground between "extremists" in this debate.

"Allegedly transphobic tweets" thread.

People have been tweeting about my "transphobic tweets" but none have been linking to them. Presumably because those who searched my actual timeline thought 'meh'.

Here are all the tweets that are mentioned in the judgement.
First off, a thread about the government's consultation on the Gender Recognition Act.
Then there was this question, which sparked off quite a big discussion with #developmenttwitter on sex and gender. (about 150 tweets in several threaded conversations)

In summer 2016, a trans friend (not involved in this debate) told me to watch two videos. The first featured @boodleoops. She blew apart my ideas about gender identity. I needed to either abandon intellectual integrity or change my way of thinking. [2/11]
@boodleoops The second was by @MagdalenBerns. Where Rebecca had been gentle, Magdalen was brutal. I do feel for Alex being made the example, but it made me realise that I am no more a woman than Alex is a woman.

The Home Secretary herself is seeking to have the decision that I am Irish - not British overturned

The Govt is represented by one of the most advanced constitutional lawyers in the UK

Their objective is to redefine the Good Friday Agreement & label all NI citizens as British
The British Government’s argument claims that there is an "important distinction" between identity & citizenship in the #GFA

That people born in Northern Ireland remain British citizens according to the law, even if they identify as Irish

We believe there is no distinction, that the people of Northern Ireland have a constitutional right to choose whether they are Irish or British or both under Article 1 of the Good Friday Agreement and I've made my choice - I am Irish.

1/ Today our delegation visited the University of Central America in El Salvador, where 6 Jesuit Priests, their housekeeper Elba Ramos, and her daughter Celina Ramos were brutally murdered on November 16, 1989 by the U.S.-backed Salvadoran military.
2/ We visited the chapel where the priests are buried. Then we visited the rose garden which is the memorial where 4 of the 6 priests were murdered.

We also visited the rooms where Elba and Celina were murdered so there would be no witnesses to these heinous crimes.
3/ Fathers Ignacio Ellacuria, “Nacho” Martin-Baro, Segundo Montes, Juan Ramon Moreno, Joaquin Lopez y Lopez, and Amando Lopez were killed for speaking out against a terrible war and standing up for the poor and marginalized.

“US federal funds to any organisation involved in providing abortion services overseas or counselling women about them.”
Though revoked by every Democrat and reinstated by every Republican
since, Trump has taken up the cause with renewed vigor.

Every time the global gag has been reimposed by a Republican president, rates of back street and self-administered abortions have increased.

2/ It also quotes Ron Rivest for the proposition that “IF” voters don’t review the computer-marked printouts from BMDs, “then there’s a problem.” But as explained in the article, it’s also a problem that jurisdictions are flocking to these systems w/o the benefit of studies...
3/ ... affirmatively showing that voters can and will review them. Does Rivest mean to suggest that it’s ok to make us guinea pigs for these new systems pending further study at some indeterminate time?
