The share of Americans saying that "now is a good time to find a quality job" is by far the highest since Gallup started asking the question in 2001.
And the percent of Americans mentioning economic issues as the nation's most important problem is the lowest on record.
Low-wage industries are finally seeing wage growth...
Consumer sentiment is the highest it has been since the 1990s (though it has plateaued and even dropped a little during the Trump presidency).
Other polls also find strongly positive sentiment about economic conditions.

Real median personal income is at record highs.
BUT.

There is a partisan divide in the surveys.

If someone you don't like is in power, it's hard to feel good about the economy.
AND, the destruction of the housing market 10 years ago dealt a blow to working-class wealth from which we have never recovered.
Housing was the engine of middle-class and working-class wealth. The housing bubble made a crappy weak expansion in the 2000s seem like a bonanza to many ordinary people. That's mostly gone now.

For decades, the conventional wisdom has been that it's the LABOR market, and INCOME, that affects politics.

If that's true, Trump is in a very strong position.

But if it's the HOUSING market, and WEALTH, then Trump is in trouble.
