In 2016 when I walked through a market in Caracas, Venezuela people yelled,
"Tell the people the truth! There is no food!"

Here's my report from then:

Now, two years later, I see that there's still vast food shortages in Venezuela, and in the West of the country continuous power cuts means that meat at markets are often rotten and ridden with flies.
Hyperinflation means that the annual inflation rate could end up as 1,000,000% by the end of this year (source IMF).

That's had a devastating effect on day to day life of Venezuelans.

Akbar created the system of Subah (provinces).

This system of Subah, made administrative reforms more efficient & Bengal was the most important Subah of the Mughals.

Initially under the rule of Emperor Akbar, there were 12 Subahs, which rose to 22 under Shah Jahan.

Kabul, Lahore, Multan, Ajmer, Gujarat, Delhi, Agra, Malwa, Awadh, Illahabad, Bihar, and Bengal were the initial 12 Subahs under Akbar.
Each Subah had a governor called a Subahdar. Each Subah was further divided into Sarkars or districts.

The Subah of Bengal, comprising of both Bangladesh and West Bengal was the richest Subah (province) of the Mughal Empire.

I was at a fundraiser the other night. A woman kept asking me "come on! what was it like?? I want to hear about it".. but I find myself brushing off the question, giving a 1 sentence answer like "oh, it was a great experience" and then I swallow hard and change the subject.2/12
When I do start to talk about it, I get emotional and can't go into details. Many of you know I have worked at a crisis shelter for children in Tucson. I have spent years volunteering at the Lighthouse shelter to feed those in need in Annapolis.3/12
