1. VIRGINITY: Our African culture says the bride had to be a virgin. For those who didn't do African history, VIRGINITY was a must for lobola, if not the bride price would be REDUCED. Nowadays the average female by the time she gets married her body count is in double digits 🤦🏾♂️
Body count matters, a female that has been with a lot of guys has decreased her ability to emotionally bond & increased her likelihood of “bouncing to a new 🍆” the moment something goes wrong. Women were created to pair bond with one guy not jump from 🍆 to 🍆
Virginity has lost it's meaning, it used to be the greatest gift a woman could give her husband on their day of officially being husband & wife. But now, it's given for trivial things like an iPhone, pizza, 6 pack of savanna, bus fare, good grades, birthday presents etc 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
2. FEMINISM: Despite having forked out all that money, their daughter won't even be SUBMISSIVE to you. She'll be telling you about equal rights, about how much she's an enlightened woman. Yet she couldn't say all that when her family where selling her off like some commodity🤦🏾♂️
She can't even do what's expected of a wife, cook, wash, iron, etc You'll now have to hire a maid. I mean the maid is the one who will be cooking, cleaning, washing, nurturing the kids, because the wife is a modern day woman, she doesn't do that. How's is she even a wife???
3. IT'S NOW A BUSINESS: In the old days lobola was the UNIFICATION of 2 families, the husband's & the wife's. But now it's all about PROFITEERING. E.g "We educated our daughter" why should they want to be rewarded for educating their own child? 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
It's something that the law expects of any parent, to educate their child, so why mention it during the lobola negotiations. It's ridiculous, so the guy should reimburse the girl's parents for educating their own child ? Scam! Scam! Scam! 🚮🚮🚮
4. STILL DEMAND A WHITE WEDDING: After having paid all that money, the girl's parents will then tell you, our daughter won't be going anywhere without a wedding. Not just any wedding, a white wedding. So what was the whole purpose of the lobola ceremony in the first place ?😩😩😩
If they want a legal certificate to mark the marriage, why not a court wedding ? It minimizes costs, if they really care about the union surely they wouldn't want that marriage to start off with debts. Fact is they don't care about the groom. Scam! Scam! Scam!🚮🚮🚮
5. IT DOESN'T END THERE: Somehow some way you work a miracle & manage to pay the lobola & do the white wedding, the woman's parents still expect you to take care of their entire family till you drop dead. In this harsh economic climate, how do you manage ???😒😒😒
CONCLUSION: Lobola is just a way men are being trained & conditioned by society into a life of servitude. As compensation for their labor, men are given periodic use of a woman's vagina.😴😴😴
