How many of you are aware of a person called, Sir Madhava Rao, who penned a 1st rate book called, "Little Hints"? He was an administrator in Travancore, then Indore and then dispatched to Baroda State. This thread tries to connect the dots between then and now.
From Wikipedia: "Raja Sir Tanjore Madhava Rao, KCSI (c. 1828 – d. 4 April 1891), was an ICS, administrator and politician who served as the Diwan of Travancore from 1857 to 1872, Indore from 1873 to 1875 and Baroda from 1875 to 1882.
He was moved to Baroda because a very young Sayaji Rao had just been anointed as the King of Baroda and the latter had to be mentored into administration and ruling. This is where Madhava Rao stepped in.
The culmination of his teachings came out in the form of a book, "Little Hints". It gives lots of wonderful visionary ideas that are relevant as much today as it was then. Some samples.

One might wonder why am writing on this and what is the relevance. One copy of the book is apparently available in a Library in California. We wonder how our Superman is able to think differently than many of us. One person, many years ago told me,"Readers are Leaders".
So correctly my friend said that statement !! When @narendramodi became the CM of Gujarat, I understand that, he made multiple copies of the book and gave it to the IAS officers of Gujarat Government so that they there is a common thread running through them
