Congress has been very clever. They never brought the CAB because they silently allowed Muslims to infiltrate illegally and kept away refugees of other religions.
This helped them politically and in changing demographics.Crores of Bangladeshis live in India who've infiltrated over time. Then came Rohingyas and they primarily reached Jammu. Why Jammu when they could've gotten a much better lifestyle in other cities?
Because there they had the cover of 370 and Kashmiri politicians.

Essentially, in one move of the CAB, the entire situation has been reversed.The other problem Congress faces is that when Hindu and Sikh refugees come to India and mingle with the populace, they'll tell tales of the horrors of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
This will unite Hindus and expose Congress's apathy towards their pain.Then comes the effect the CAB will have in Pakistan.
Those persecuted in Balochistan or Sindh or Gilgit-Baltistan will raise their voice against Pakistani oppression in the hope of gaining international recognition.
This will cause serious upheaval in Pakistan.Crimes against Hindus will become international talk in the upcoming months as India grants citizenship and runs their stories.
In this context, the CAB is a direct hit at the brand of Islamic extremism that functions not through bombs and guns but through rapes and conversions.
With abrogation of 370 Prime Minister Modi has shifted the focus from Kashmir to PoK. With the CAB he will shift doubts at India's truly secular nature from time-to-time to Pakistan's and Bangladesh's unsecular society that's been so for decades.
Hindus do have an appalling number of traitors but the CAB is one move that will bring together most Hindus in thought without any barriers of flags, passports or borders.

The combined onslaught of the so called 'secular' parties to the CAB and every single progressive legislation being passed by the Modi Govt indicates that for the first time in 70 years, these parties are sensing that the ground is slithering from under their feet!
