it's counter-intuitive, but i feel organizing priorities are the same today as yesterday. the iraq war protests were some of the largest in history & achieved almost nothing. the construction of participatory-democratic organs of worker power is the prerequisite to effectiveness.
i've been sitting with this since the news came out, and through all these calls for protests, going out to your street corner, and honestly...

we can't repeat the same failure again. we can't protest for the sake of protest. it's all for naught if it's not backed up by power.
does this increase the urgency of organizing? yes.

does this drive you to get involved when you otherwise wouldn't? good.

but that doesn't mean an ethical or strategic obligation to anti-war protesting. we have to put our labor where it counts.
the working-class of america needs institutions capable of expressing their will as an organized body. we need established, mass institutions that can strategically group people's efforts, and wield real power (withdraw their labor, etc.)

that was the task yesterday, and today.
yeah, exactly. protesting isn't harmful. but if you're already organizing, don't feel compelled to drop it or burn yourself out to go protest. if you're considering getting involved, consider building durable organizations, not protesting. it's a prereq.
who in your area is supporting labor union drives?

who is organizing tenants? transit riders?

who is building revolutionary neighborhood organizations? kids programs?

show up to their next meeting, then commit your labor. that's how you do your part to stop war in iran.
are you tired of feeling powerless? like the US government can do whatever it wants and you have no say?

those conditions aren't coincidental or inevitable. it is because we lack those institutions. we can build them. we can build power.
