Catching up on holiday specials on iPlayer. Extremely dispiriting that Beeb has adopted Netflix's autoplay model.
I know it seems a small thing, but it's one of those small things that really irritates. Part of the frenzied, eyeballs-are-money, attention economy model of the online world.
Feels once again like the Beeb emulating the commercial world instead of providing an alternative to it.
I was just trying trying to compose myself from the end of Gavin and Stacy (OMFG btw). Then it ticks in and takes you right out of it.
Which is funny, because that Christmas special felt like exactly the kind of quieter, more familial thing the Beeb sometimes does really well.
