@BlairBraverman @QuinceMountain In 2003, 15-year old Bler found a stray dog brought him home. She was leaving in a few days to spend a year in Norway. She named the stray Oslo, even though she knew we would be looking for a new home for him.
@BlairBraverman @QuinceMountain After Bler left, I missed her terribly. Her dad asked, “Weren’t you going to find a new home for that dog?” I said, “My baby girl has left. Don’t ask me to give up my new baby boy.” 
@BlairBraverman @QuinceMountain Oslo went right to work taking care of Hattie, his blind older sister. He body blocked her when she started running toward something that could hurt her. Understanding that she couldn’t see where balls fell, he would herd her to the ball so she could retrieve it.
@BlairBraverman @QuinceMountain Marc thought Oslo was so handsome, that he had his faculty photo retaken with Oslo. He used to comment proudly, “Oslo is so smart, we need to send him to college.”
@BlairBraverman @QuinceMountain Oslo was a good sport about indignities occasionally forced upon him by his parents.
@BlairBraverman @QuinceMountain Last summer, Oslo became ill and experienced permanent neurological damage. His Vet predicted he was in his last week of life. Oslo didn’t agree. Despite having balance problems, cancer in both eyes, and multiple tumors in unfortunate places, Oslo continued to love life.
@BlairBraverman @QuinceMountain He couldn’t see much, he couldn’t hear anything, and his balance was off but he took every opportunity for an adventure, even when there were barriers to cross.
@BlairBraverman @QuinceMountain Two nights ago, Oslo became acutely ill. There was no getting better this time: It was time to say goodbye.
