The Business Committee, which meets weekly, agrees the business for a Plenary session or sitting. This is set out on an Order Paper.

The first two minutes of each sitting or Plenary session are dedicated to prayers, where only Members and the Speaker’s officials are allowed in the Chamber. The prayer period is opportunity for silent individual reflection.

In tomorrow's business (14 Jan) there is a suspension of Standing Order 20(1). This refers to Question Time. It normally takes places between 2pm and 3:30pm every Monday and Tuesday therefore it won't take place tomorrow.

There are 6 Standing Committees (permanent committees). With specific roles assigned to them from Standing Orders:
Audit;
Public Accounts;
Standards and Privileges;
Procedures;
Assembly and Executive Review; &
Business Committee.
The Assembly Commission is the corporate body of the Northern Ireland Assembly. Under section 40(4) of the Northern Ireland Act 1998, it provides the Assembly with the property, staff and services it needs.
The Principal Deputy Speaker assists the Speaker with his procedural, corporate and representational duties. An election for the role is on the order paper for tomorrow (14 Jan).
The Adjournment indicates the end of the sitting for that day. In the Chamber, the Speaker, Principal Deputy Speaker, or Deputy Speakers will announce: “The question is that the Assembly do now adjourn. The Assembly is adjourned.”
Ministers often announce departmental policies or initiatives during an Assembly sitting. These statements are Oral Ministerial Statements. MLAs have the opportunity to put questions to the Minister following the statement.
