A LITTLE CONTEXT: The convoluted racist history & beginnings (ongoing to this day) that stains this country was equally embedded in the efforts by WW to secure a women's right to vote & the equal rights amendment. Though clearly beholden to WW, as privilege lent them the 2/x
legitimacy & platform as suffrigists to mount such a movement, I admit mixed feelings about even acknowledging them, though I will do so here. This is reflective of my heritage, background and that which is endemic to t/ongoing racism that continues 3/x
to divide the women's movement today
I can not, & no one should ignore their blatant racism which cost Af-Am women the right to vote until finally granted in 1965 via t/VRA after Af-Am themselves, accompanied by a coalition of White, Immigrant, Jewish & N. Americans MARCHED 4/x

Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony who started a fire that would eventually give us t/ERA today & ALICE PAUL who in 1921 wrote t/ERA presented to congress in 1923.

sacrificed, organized, marched, organized & never gave up ....
