It's called Operation Mockingbird. And it's called that for a reason!

There is documented proof that the CIA dumps millions into media contacts to push a message. It's not some tin foil theory it's a fact. The underbelly of our government pushes propaganda through the media.
Operation Mockingbird recruited leading American journalists into a propaganda network and oversaw the operations of front groups. It's been going on since the 50's it's not a joke, if you don't believe it the joke is on you.
In the early years of the Cold War, orchestrated efforts were made by the governments of the Soviet Union and the United States to use media companies to influence public opinion both domestically and internationally. CIA Director Allen Dulles oversaw this media network.

Old enough to remember getting “gifted” a blog post about how money supply & QT was not impactful to either the market or economy in a Post GFC Basel III/DF world...well here we are..
Irony of post was talking about repo hypothecation & its Leverage supposedly making money supply obsolete - yet not a word on the fact that Repo & its rehypothecation being subject to SLR constraints.. & GSIB Score.. Newsflash..BONY only triparty bank & $JPM out coz of regs.
Any guess why $DB got rid of repo?

Low margin high capital & SLR Consumption biz... they reduced their “Leverage Exposure” by €115b & increased SLR Ratio...when also including Equity Prime Finance footprint.

For those old enough to remember... Doesn't this whole thing reek of the Dukakis campaign of 1988?

Rs hurling massive slime in vicious attacks, and Dukakis was the better man, calm, staying positive, polite, decent, never struck back, and lost in a landslide.
Dukakis was a great candidate btw. He was way ahead in the summer. Bush had lotsa disadvantages (scandal, his nickname was The Wimp, voters don't give the same party a third term too often)

But Bush's barrage of negative ads captured the narrative, defined Dukakis & crushed him.
Dukakis refused to fight. He was determined to be reasonable. John Kerry made the same mistake. In the last 40 years only two Dems made it to the White House. One of them had a "War Room" specifically for directing PR warfare. They fought. They won.

Minnesota.

For the umpteenth time, the state I think Donald Trump has the best chance of taking that he didn't take in 2016, outside of a not-so unexpected flip of a traditional battleground like New Hampshire, is Minnesota.

He visited the state one time, and it almost flipped.
I don't think Nevada and New Mexico are even worth visiting. Yes, Nevada was close, but demographics are demographics.

If you're the Trump Campaign, is it wise to test if Washoe County was a one-off in 2018, meaning it'll flip back from Democrats, or do you hammer Olmsted, etc?
The answer is you redirect energy/money/GOTV etc to Minnesota, which geographically and logistically makes it easier to defend the Rust Belt.

There's a lot of work the GOP needs to do there.

For those old enough to remember almost 4 years ago when The New York Times ran with a farce of a story about Uranium One, here is the same New York Times admitting the story was a sham today...leaving out that they created it.

Here is the original Uranium One story on the NYT’s website, with no corrections or admission that it was “debunked,” as the above article confirms.
For those who don’t recall or have appropriately suppressed all 2016 election memories, this story came in April of 2015, 12 days after HRC announced she was running for President.

1. Why the Left Opposes Arming Teachers

I serialize in this thread thoughts from one of the preeminent contemporary thinkers on the way of the left, Dennis Prager. He has studied the left and commented on it for over 40 years.
2. The left rarely, if ever, explains why allowing some teachers and other adults in a school to be armed is a crazy idea. They merely assert it as a self-evident truth. But, of course, it's not a self-evident truth.
3. On the contrary, having some adults who work at schools be trained in the responsible use of guns makes so much sense that the left's blanket opposition seems puzzling.
