A great lesson I've just learned - You never know what it is you're doing that God will bless. Today, God mentioned that he was blessing me for something I never thought was anything. I was just facing my front and doing the work.
But...and this is the lesson. Because I value excellence, I try to do all things well. So this thing I was doing (that I thought was nothing) ended up being excellent.
Like @EmotionsDoctor keeps reminding me, "How you do one thing is a pointer to how you do everything else."
People of God, hard work pays. Honesty pays. Excellence pays. The only thing is, it seems to be accompanied by an annoying trait called "delayed gratification". You tend to succeed later than usual.
I don't like it, but maybe it's God's way of building character. (I still don't like it.)🤷🏾‍♀️
If you decide to take this path, you will need God to continually reassure you that your life is purposeful and that he will eventually reward you. Or else you won't have the fortitude to wait.
One of the lovely by-products of this path is great friends. Good people just seem to find you. People who share your values. They want to share their lives with other people like them.
Also, after a while of building your reputation, only certain types of work come to you. When people are looking for the best of the best, they call you. You can pick and choose what you do.
