Silly Little Trivia: Literal choreography in Black Swan

The male dancer is "under six feet" at "Oh that would be my first death"

@BTS_twt
@BTS_twt This was supposed to be a stupid post about a potential visual pun (it may or may not be what they intended but as a pun-dit I can take it no other way🤣🤣) but now that I'm looking for it I do think I can see some of the lyrics in the choreography so heck, I'll continue
@BTS_twt Usual disclaimer that I'm not a dancer. Usually I feel I'm in relatively safe ground because it's not modern dance and the choreo can be quite literal at times, but this time it IS modern dance and I have no idea if there are moves that are oft associated with certain meanings...
@BTS_twt Wings that once elevated the dancer breaking away at "They say the heart no longer races" (=when you experience the first death)
@BTS_twt Repeated movements in a vaguely roundish-diamondish formation... Possibly visualizing the heart beating?
@BTS_twt Back to me being silly, but you can't deny that he literally does a teeny little jump off his back at "jump jump jump"🤣🤣🤣
@BTS_twt Arms start to "swim" (or visualize waves) the moment the word "ocean (ba-da)" is said
@BTS_twt Visualization of waves at "Slowly sinking like in a trance / Struggle but it's all ocean floor"
@BTS_twt I love this sequence leading up to "Yeah I think I'm going deeper" showing the "water" level rising and taking over the dancer. Compare:
2:31 - head above the waves
2:36 - struggles as he's pulled deeper underwater
2:48 - suspended in the deep underwater

@bts_twt #BlackSwan
@BTS_twt And it goes deeper.
2:52 - water beneath him
2:56 - no more water beneath him, he's reached the ocean floor
@BTS_twt But there that he finds himself going back (3:00) to his studio making music once again (3:01) and even when the waves hit (3:02), he breaks away and takes a step back at "not again (da-shi tto)" (3:08)
@BTS_twt Now that he's no longer consumed by (=detached, 3:08) his fear, he's able to face it (3:09). He realizes who he truly is and that gives him power over that fear (3:11): he's someone so passionate about music that his darkest fear is to lose that passion
@BTS_twt Not so much literal to the specific lyrics sung here but visualizes the overall theme: The fear is not completely gone, it lingers and follows.

3:19 But it cannot consume them
3:21 They will not allow it to take over
3:26 And they fly freely
@BTS_twt Walking anew, resolute, do your thing
@BTS_twt The fears will still be there and try to cage you (4:19) in but they cannot hold you (4:21)
@BTS_twt Their fears won't keep them down
@BTS_twt Once he realizes that his fear and his passion are two sides of the same coin, he no longer feels attacked by it (harmonizing, 4:40-4:58). His fears are part of his wings that allow him to fly (4:59-end).
@BTS_twt Or what do I know, maybe the curtains were just fucking blue 🤣
