The Republicans’ sole legal expert witness before the House Judiciary Committee, @JonathanTurley, points out two major problems with @realDonaldTrump’s defense. And he’s right.

Thread - Jonathan Turley Destroys the Democrats’ Rush to Impeachment

1. Jonathan Turley was the sole Republican witness before the House Judiciary Committee’s impeachment hearing today.
2. His opening remarks followed the statements of three rabid and partisan Democrat/progressive “legal scholars.” Pamela Karlan’s screeching remarks were particularly insulting. Turley is a registered Democrat who did not vote for President Trump.
3. Personally, I would rather have had Mark Levin testify instead, but his dispassionate remarks should resonate with any objective person – especially in contrast to the screeching and insulting remarks of Democrat witness Pamela Karlan.

1/ After Rep. Nadler (D-NY) summarized the report in a few sentences, Rep. Collins (R-GA) deliberately and repeatedly mischaracterized its findings and concluded by saying falsely, "These are the facts of the report." They weren't—and he knew they weren't. A bad sign for the GOP.
2/ Mueller begins by saying he decided early on that he had to move expeditiously as well as fairly. He is already beginning his defense of closing up his office (in the view of many) "early" given still-open cases and subpoenas for testimony and documents that remain unanswered.

Republicans’ desperate attempt to distract from Dr. Blasey Ford’s powerful testimony by blaming Democrats is refuted by her own words: "All sexual assault victims should be able to decide for themselves whether their private experience is made public."
Judge Kavanaugh kept repeating that four witnesses swore that Dr. Blasey Ford’s account “did not happen.” Not true. All we have are statements from their lawyers claiming that they have no knowledge of the night in question. That is not the same thing as it "did not happen.”
One of the four witnesses Judge Kavanaugh kept on referring to as exonerating, Leland Keyser, has said publicly that she believes Dr. Blasey Ford.
