How do you feel about adults doing callouts and dogpiling teenagers (especially if it’s about consumer fandoms like MHA fandom)
I’m a 24 yr old, a long time anime fan, so apart of me thinks it’s better to just allow teenagers to express themselves safely and however they like.

Head cannons especially are harmless imo. saying x character is agender or trans isn’t the same thing as being a pedo lol
Like, what is being accomplished with scolding queer teens about using a characters canon sexuality and gender when media representation for self identifying with characters that are like them are rare to start with and even rarer if it has substance to it
You can’t just be smug and say: “Oh? It’s just a fictitional character? where have I heard this before...” and try to play “gotcha” with media representation. You’d have to think that people complaining about social justice issues is a defense of fictional character’s feelings
Which is absurd to everyone. Nobody is saying things like: “Hey, Lily from Zombieland Saga is pretty damn trans and it would be nice if we, ourselves as actual fucking people, referred to her as such.” as a consideration of Lily’s feelings. It’s a consideration of minority fans
That being said, things like this tend to be the stupidest kind of bullshit minority teenagers online have to put up with and it’s sad af.

Now that I got that out of the way, I’ll personally lay out where I draw the line with being hands off with online teen spaces
Where I draw the line and bother to interact with teens in serious ways is when they do callouts, dogpile, dox, etc harass my friends and followers or when their involvement in discourse is overwhelmingly negative (like what happened with discussing bi-lesbians recently)
I do my best to keep my interactions w/ teens to a minimum. My logic is simple: ya’ll’re growing quick and need to figure life out. You won’t be the same person when you’re 19 or 20, so things that are problematic to me at this moment isn’t worth addressing if time could fix it.
This standard applies to most teens online. Influencers get a higher standard, like all influencers do. There’s more responsibilities that come with having a following that likes you and is influenced by you. Besides that, there’s no need to get so pissed at random headcannons
I think I’m done ranting about this disingenuous af callout

Still curious where ya’ll stand with handling stuff like this
For those that need it as always
