It is really heart wretching that Raja Raja Jaichand who is sold as the traitorous and a fallen hindu and nobody ever tried to correct the narrative being peddled. Jai Chamd was not a traitor. Jaichand did not betray Prithviraj Chauhan. This is a myth from Prithviraj Raso.
He himself valiantly died fighting against Ghori.Jaichand has been vilified by Left historians who believe in Chand Bardai's PrithviRaj Raso as Gospel ! It has Zero historical value, written in 15CE. Contemporary sources PrithviRaj Vijay and Hamir Mahakavya don't mention Jaichand.
Jaichand didn't support Prithviraj during 2nd Battle Of Tarain. There is no proof that he supported Ghuri and betrayal to Prithviraj. Jaichand was not a traitor, but traitors are still present who do anti-Hindu activities just for their personal benefits.
The Jaichand story was fabricated on a later date. No Islamic or contemporary Hindu sources tell tale of Jaichand's betrayal. If circumstantial evidence are to go by, Jaichand hated Turks. JAICHAND WAS A GREAT KING, He himself valiantly died fighting Ghori.
Raja Jaichand was an Indian king from the Gahadavala dynasty. He is also known as Jayachandra inscriptions, and Jaichand in vernacular legends.
Raja Jayachandra inherited his grandfather Govindachandra's royal titles: Ashva-pati Nara-pati Gaja-pati Rajatrayadhipati ("leader of three forces: the cavalry, the infantry and the elephant corps") and
Vividha-vidya-vichara-vachaspati ("patron of different branches of learning")
He ruled the Antarvedi country in the Gangetic plains, including the important cities of Kanyakubja and Varanasi. His territory included much of the present-day eastern Uttar Pradesh and some parts of western Bihar.
According to Prithviraj Raso, Jaichand was a rival of another Indian king, Prithviraj Chauhan. His daughter Samyukta eloped with Prithviraj against his wishes, and he allied with the foreign Ghurids to ensure Prithviraj's downfall.
Because of this legend, he is remembered as a symbol of treachery in the medieval Indian folklore. However, this account is historically inaccurate. Prithviraj Raso contains a mixture of imaginary stories and historical facts, which it exaggerates for dramatic effect.
The largest version of Prithviraj Raso is especially known to contain several inaccuracies, and is of little historical value. The more contemporary, and accurate, account is the Prithviraja Vijaya written by Jayanaka.
Raja Jaichand was a fearless fighter, a brave king, whose empire, as per the Muslim chroniclers of the time, stretched from the borders of China to Malwa.
He died fighting in the battle of Chandawar which again as per the chroniclers of the time was one fierce battle between the armies of Raja Jaichand and Ghori !
Jaichandra had not done anything which could be termed as "treason".
Adding more, in 1184, Raja Jayachandra built a majestic temple for Bhagavān Shri Rama at Ayodhya with a golden spire.

The archaeological trace of this temple along with inscriptions (Treta Ka Thakur etc) decided the case in favour of Hindus in 2010.
This was the same king who is reviled as "Jaichand". Gāhaḍavālas were the trustees of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya.Gāhaḍavāla were also the guardians of the holy places of Kashi, Kannauj. They were also the trustees of the Rama Temple at Ayodhya, that last of them being Jaichand.
In 1889-91, an ASI team led by Alois Anton Führer conducted another survey of Ayodhya. Tretā Kā Thākura inscription found by A. Fuhrer. According to Führer, Mir Khan built the Babri mosque at the place of Janmasthanam temple in 930 AH(1523 CE).
He stated that many columns of the old temple had been utilized by the Muslims for the construction of Babri mosque: these pillars were of black stone, called kasauti by the natives
Führer also wrote that Aurangzeb had built now-ruined mosques at the sites of Svargadvaram and Treta-ke-Thakur temples.
A fragmentary inscription of Jayachandra of Kannauj, dated to 1241 Samvat (1185 CE), and a record of a Vishnu temple’s construction were recovered from Aurangazeb’s Treta-ke-Thakur mosque, and kept in Faizabad museum.
According to official Gazeteer of ASI and historians, Cited Jas Burgess, the then DG of ASI (Archaeological Survey of India), The temple of Tretā Kā Thākura (Bhagavān Shri Rama) was built by Jaichand in 1184 A.D.
It was written in the preface that the Sanskrit Inscriptions found by Fuhrer would be published, yet ASI has never published that the inscriptions of Raja Jaichand that was found at Ayodhya which means truth was suppressed by ASI.
But that inscription is still safe and the inscription is now in possession of the State Museum in Lucknow.
