in high school i built a pc to game. the crew i was playing with had moved on to a new game and i was amped to join in but when i tried to install it it didnt work and EA released a statement that it just didnt work on some computers for no reason. after that i just gave it up.
i will say it sucks that it seems like most online multiplayer FPS games have done away with the two of their coolest components that were stable servers and mods. finding a cool server to hang on and getting to know people there was one of the parts that intially made it fun.
also (idk if everyone knows this or not) but it use to be the case that games were freely modable. that may still be case but seems like its a lot more closed off. used to be if you bought game X there would tons of free mods that you could just download that were different games
so counter strike, for example, was a mod that you could just download for free and stack onto half life. even games like battlefield had complete mods like desert storm you could just get for free that were often more fun than the original game

actually since we are on this topic you know what sucks the most about games now if i ever play with my friends. RADAR. u have radar and can see people on it. awww liddle baby doesnt want to get snuck up on. man that is the worst. how do you play with that shit. absolute travesty

first issue i ever changed my mind on was animal testing. was like 13, met a guy who was part of a pro animal testing group and the idea of that was so profoundly strange i had to ask him about it. he made a pretty good case + it may have started my obsession w analyzing beliefs
he was from england. wonder what he is doing now. he was mostly into it because there was so much anti animal testing protesting on his campus. i suspect he enjoyed the IRL trolling but he was serious about it. way ahead of the curve, thank u based english guy
was raised in a place where i was told anyone against abortion was just completely insane. realizing that wasnt the case later on was huge. didnt even become anti abortion at that time but just seeing it wasnt “sanity vs total idiot lunatics” really started my worldview shift

my cooking style is influenced by theology. god made the animals to be delicious. u dont need to do anything to them. i just buy whatever chunks of animals i can get + roast them up. roasted the fattiest lamb ribs youve ever seen ($6.5), no salt or anything, was absolutely divine
im so routinely making the best things ive ever eaten with almost no spices, just harnessing the naturally present flavors, that im like one step away from asserting that spices in general are culinary cope

i see comics like this and have strange forbidden “political horseshoe” type thoughts but, really its more like there is an extra dimension to the political compass that operates independently of the normal x-y axis. i have ideas about this but am wondering what you all think.
for example there is a noam chomsky quote about not wanting your people to be milked like a cow by foreign investors. that could be a “right wing nationalist” or it could be a very particular type of “left wing” person, not using left wing the in modern colloquial sense. very odd
my current model for understanding this is that if your political movement involves grouping people based on “peoplehood”, i.e the french people, the korean people, peoplehood in that sense, then that is more of a “right wing” model. but [...]

2/ I know you've forgotten most of it, but here is the list of basic rules for exponentiation that you learned in high school. Diffie-Hellman is simply the item on the list "Power of power".

1. The obvious stuff first: "postrat" contains a prefix "post-" applied to a root "rat". The root refers to the "rationalist" community. Thus, postrats have an intrinsic tie to the rationalists.

Let’s rewind. I started this thread because as a kid, I remember watching TV and listening to the radio and rarely seeing or hearing the state represented. Many young people have fled to major cities in search of resources or experiences that don’t exist here.
I’ve always been a problem solver, so the idea of staying here and creating those resources and experiences has always been more fascinating to me than leaving. In staying, I began to discover a lot of facts about the state and started sharing them on social media.

To an extent, Generational Theory is bullshit. There are no dividing lines between people born in, say, 1944 versus 1946.

Their experiences, if they are of the same race, nationality, gender, class, and socioeconomic status, are likely to be far more similar than different.
But that similarity is primarily the effect of all of the other axes.

Growing up in abject rural poverty versus extremely affluent, urban, Old Money Knickerbocker society is a far bigger divide, even if both people were born on the exact same day.
