The narrative that entire branches of government - or entire (LARGE) departments within it - are compromised whole cloth is utter nonsense. (thread)
1. Have you ever worked in an office? Our government isn't run by AI and bots equipped with "loyalty" switches. It's run by human beings.
It's run by human beings who have thoughts, feelings, a sense of right and wrong, and who also fight tendencies to get caught up in stupid dramas over office supplies and reporting methods.
Office Space is hilarious as sh*t because it's so true.
But back to loyalties. Let’s review THE OATH.
I, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same;
that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.
👆 I don’t see anything in there about supporting and defending a king, dictator, individual, or personality.
2. There are entire f*cking cottage industries around facilitating "culture change" within organizations. Culture change, when handled poorly - or not at all - often results in chaos and/or mutiny.
Does this seem like a "culture change" to you?
Does it seem like the Trump administration had any plans on handling "culture change"? They are largely uninterested in how *anything* in our government works.

Trump is interested in himself, and unable to fathom any way of operating other than being a thug.

HINT: Being an idiot thug is not a good way of handling culture change.

Here’s Trump handling culture change.

Definitely has his tiny little finger on the pulse of that culture.

3. One of the reasons public employees are willing to be paid less than what they'd earn in the private sector is because of the sense of purpose that comes with the work. Comey, McCabe, Bharara and Rosenberg have all talked about it extensively.
How do you think people who believe deeply in this country and its ideals feel about Trump and his lackeys?
There are more people like her.
And her.
And her.
And him.
And him.
And him.
Do you think people like them - who, by the way, aren't necessarily incessantly tweeting their thoughts about everything - are just saying, "whelp, guess we're a mafia state now! Time to open myself an offshore account and crawl around the Oval on my knees."
Or do you think they're: slow-walking sh*t, taking contemporaneous notes, meeting with other patriots to game sh*t out, papering the living f*ck out of everything they can. For example.
4. Culture change - *especially one that would require thousands of people to decide they want to do a 180 on their morals* - takes time. There hasn't been enough time—or expertise on the part of Trump and his goons—to make this happen.
Saying that it's “it’s all over” benefits someone, but it ain't us.
It ain't over till it's over. It’s not over till every last patriot has given up. I'm not giving up - are you? I'm preparing to knock on doors like never before; to do everything I can think of to help with elections in the fall.
What's right *does* matter, to US. Truth *does* matter, to US. *WE* are the f*cking cavalry, people. Our brothers and sisters working those thankless jobs - some at great risk to themselves - are trying to hold while they wait for the cavalry (US).
I'm not giving up, and neither should you.
