Because sleep is overrated, I spent a lot of time thinking about this last night.
While Lemon and the gang are busy making fun of stereotypical Trump supporters, they ignore the people who don't fall into those stereotypes that voted for Trump in 2016.
Those people were tired of assholes like Lemon - elite, left-leaning scolds who constantly preach to them their ideologies and ignore life and culture in middle America.
The Hillary Clinton campaign spent its time trying to convince urban liberals that if they just came out to vote harder they could beat Trump. The votes Clinton needed were the ones she ignored - votes her husband, by the way, carried fairly handily.
It wasn't sexism. It wasn't a sudden yearning for conservatism. It wasn't am embrace of racism or bigotry. These were people whose very lifestyles and cultures were being routinely ignored by a party that had courted their vote for decades.
When your policies drive away energy and manufacturing jobs, jobs the people across middle America rely on, you can't expect them to continue to support it. They had to find an alternative that wouldn't kill their futures, and the Republicans had a guy who spoke to them.
So, I hope Don Lemon and his band of merry men continues to laugh at Trump voters. I hope they enjoy making fun of them. I will enjoy making fun of Don Lemon's disbelieving face when Trump wins re-election. I will mock him so much for this unprofessional and immature segment.
Everyone involved in that segment should be ashamed, and they should feel bad for it. Truthfully, they won't. They don't see a need to repent for this. And, as such, they won't understand the real reason Trump keeps winning and winning and winning.
