The resistance Narrative is remarkably the same on both sides of the Atlantic. The voters, like foolish dotards, chose unwisely, and they'll soon be back when they find they've fallen for a scam.
But the requiem is not just for Europe or Obama's Third Term but for the 20th century. The end of history is over. It's simply that the ideologues just got the word.
Just how reluctant the old future is about being consigned to the past is that even now, after destabilizing the UK constitution, the losers dream of restoring the UK to the heart of Europe. The parallels to America are suggestive. The village must be destroyed to save it.
The slam bang will be so bitter the winners will be nearly as dirty and bloodied as the losers. But for both sides defeat risks extinction. At least that's what they're thinking going in.
