No one is watching #CD1 race in Nebraska. Let me tell you why you should be. A thread from a “red” state Party Chair.

1) A fundraising record for Dem candidate was just made for CD1—@katejbolz raised $133k after being in race for only 3 months. Biggest haul since 2006.

2) @JeffFortenberry has been in office for 16 years with nothing to show for it. He only raised $160k.

3) Dems swept majority of city/county races in 2019 + 2020 in Lancaster/Lincoln. Even though GOP has more voters registered.

4) CD1 has Lincoln as the largest vote center and many small rural towns that used to be squarely with Dems and on values and issues still are with us. Fertile ground.

5) We have two strong women in the Dem primary @katejbolz and @babsramsey who treat each other with respect.

6) Fortenberry is facing massive crowds at his town halls who are pushing back on his more and more right-wing stances out of step with moderate and progressive CD1 voters. His hands haven’t touched farm soil ever.

7) @katejbolz is a daughter of the district—born and raised in CD1. She’s shown livestock, represented a district for 8 years as a State Senator and understands what rural towns are facing. Her hands have touched farm soil her whole life.

8) @babsramsey grew up on a farm. She knows all about corporate Ag taking over. She won’t ever turn her back on our small towns.

9) We are working hand and hand with @janet_chung and @CharleneLigon the two largest county chairs on coordinated GOTV and VBM programs.

10) Final tweet...donate to flip #CD1. This will be the upset of the 2020 election. We will flip the Congressional seat AND we also split electoral votes in NE—so welcome to the NEW BLUE DOT!
