2/ ever been a strong presidential candidate. In his prime, he got his clock cleaned. To expect a perennial loser to suddenly become a first-class winner is asinine. But, the conventional wisdom in the Democratic Party is for nostalgia and its "his turn." Biden was a strategic
3/ disaster. He really hurt Kamala Harris & Corey Booker by vacuuming up the black vote. And that vote was the safe "we have to have a white man to beat a white man" vote. That's perfectly rational. But, it really deflated the chances of Harris & Booker. That said, I thought both
3/ of them were really weak candidates. There was no way Harris was going to have the economic policy chops of Warren or Sanders. Booker is really the darling of the Manhatten crowd. I am still working to get Warren the nomination. I think the Sanders campaign has flaws that will
4/ be revealed in a real general election. Sanders' problem is that he's never been put under any real scrutiny or real pressure. I still think he is also the one Democratic candidate with the real chance of a Russian information warfare campaign hurting him. Putin could release
5/ accurate or inaccurate KGB files on Sanders, along with real or fake videos, along with interviews from his Soviet contemporaries. Those are the equivalent of Clinton's secret Wall Street speeches. To my knowledge, Sanders has not considered how to address this obvious attack.
6/ It does not mean the "facts" will be real or true. But, from a political intelligence perspective, surely Sanders must know that attack is coming. You can see the whispers of it already with Trump saying Sanders is a "communist." Are we really to believe that Putin & Trump are
7/ not talking about how to take Sanders out with a Russian influence campaign? This, IMO, is a real vulnerability that Democratic voters have a right to know about. A brokered convention could yield Warren as the unity candidate. She has no reason not to campaign to the end.
