In the sanctuary city of New York, the NYPD just assisted ICE in grabbing an immigrant who had been in the hospital, at the bedside of a family member.

Why was his family member in the hospital? Because, yesterday, ICE invaded his home and shot him in the face.

@NYCMayor Gustavo Avenando-Hernandez was taken out in shackles, in front of his traumetized family. Clergy and community members tried to block ICE's deportation vans with their bodies, but were shoved away.

The NYPD helped ICE.

@NYCMayor For the past two days, dozens of people have been standing outside Maimonides Medical Center in the cold and rain, trying to protect Avenando-Hernandez and his relative from the ICE agents parked outside in unmarked vehicles.

Thanks to the NYPD, they were not able to save him

@NYCMayor ICE invaded a New Yorker's home, shot him in the face, and entered the hospital where he lay in critical condition to drag off his relative in chains.
