In Brooklyn, a 41 year-old, Mexican national, previously removed from the U.S. on six separate occasions,
3 were referred to the US Attorney’s Office for criminal prosecution
48 of those arrested have criminal convictions, or have criminal charges pending (31 convicted + 17 pending charges)
ICE focuses its enforcement resources on individuals who pose a threat to national security, public safety and border security.
In years past, most of these individuals would have been turned over to ICE by local authorities upon their release from jail based on ICE detainers.
