This is a fair call-out of a genuine change in view on my part about @SallyQYates—who is, I agree, differently situated from the others in another important respect as well: She was leaving office anyway and isn’t in a different situation now than she would otherwise be.
My change in view on her case is the result of two things: hearing her talk about it and why she acted as she did—and talking about it with Chuck Rosenberg, who has also changed his view.
So yeah, that case is complicated and distinct.
In fact all of the cases are distinctive. That’s what let’s us become acclimated to the pattern.
