JUST IN: DOJ argues Roger STONE deserves jail time using an argument that would be very familiar to Democrats who just prosecuted the impeachment trial:
NEW: DOJ's argument to put Roger Stone in prison used eerily similar language as Democrats did in the impeachment trial.

Both expounded on the danger of obstructing investigations into election interference. Both quoted Federalist 68.

@joshgerstein Most notably, the DOJ arguments seem to cut against Trump's trial team — particularly Alan Dershowitz's argument that a president could pressure a foreign gov't to aid him politically if he views it as in the U.S. interest.
