One of the first things poverty of the mind does to you is to decimate your self esteem; it makes the basics of living like a human seem like luxury; it forces you to justify mediocrity, to seek, accept & long for a substandard life with the excuse that it makes financial sense!

And once it’s trapped you into this, you start to view those who’ve overcome it as “wasteful” and perhaps even “wicked” for living comfortably when so many others can’t.

Pain is a symptom of anger while poverty and aggression are consequences of pain.

All these things are linked & it makes the society/environment very toxic.

Poverty is a lot more than not having money:

“it is a belief that there is a lack & what exists won’t be enough”

That belief forces people to grab, hoard & makes them uncaring about the needs of others

Empathy is one of they secrets to overcoming the mindset of poverty because it allows you see others, it allows you see that they aren’t the source of your pain and that puts you in the position to heal.

Afterall, you can’t take care of others better than you take care of YOU

So, “riches” isn’t the opposite of poverty, contentment is. And no, contentment doesn’t mean you don’t have ambition, it means you’re grateful for having enough & your need for more is about fulfilment, service, self actualization... not fear of lack.

The society is a culmination of the individual trauma of the population and man, we are all seriously traumatized and we don’t even know it.

Poverty robs us al, depletes our desire & ability to overcome it & makes us comfortable in experiencing it believing “there’s no choice”
