dissenting from my esteemed colleagues a bit, i can see where they're coming from. from a campaign's perspective fox seems more fair / inviting.

but the comparison breaks down once you look at it from the **viewer's perspective** - fox is playing dem's against each other.
if sanders does get the nomination, everyone knows that fox news will do everything they can to stop it.

this includes the campaign given that ari literally wrote the book on fox
fox primetime's goal is p simple and transparent: heighten the contradictions in the dem party, then leverage that to get trump re-elected

campaigns can play along with that for a while, but if you want to actually win the white house, eventually you're gonna have to confront it
in the meantime, know that every appearance, every ounce of credibility you give to fox news helps fund them.

it gives aide to fox selling ads, and it gives aid to fox getting record revenue from cable subscriber fees
this isn't about one campaign here -- multiple campaigns have played ball with fox, across the political spectrum.

every single time it helped fox news sell itself and profit from hate. every time.
so that's my advice to campaigns or any dems looking to engage with fox. know damn sure what you're getting involved with and don't get them a pass because you like going on tv.

see, eg: mediamatters.org/bill-hemmer/fo…
anyways let's revisit this once there's a nominee and fox news is trying to fuck them over, ok?
post script:

i should correct one thing. ari didn't just write one book on fox news, he wrote three. he knows what's going on. amazon.com/Ari-Rabin-Havt…

also, i agree with matt on this

and finally nothing in this thread should be taken as a defense, implicit or otherwise, of msnbc or any other news channel in any way.

more people should read news instead of watching it
