*Being* that establishment and noticing such a person appears too popular within that party to be stopped should perhaps trigger some self-reflection.
The idea that the answer is to commit to a sort of in-between centrist seemed specious to me, but it hadn’t yet been tested.
It’s being tested now—and failing.
There are 2 candidates running on such ideas. I’d guess they’re the “electable” ones.
It seems wise to pick one now.
I have my preference but I l ike both candidates. I seem to be in the minority on that.
This is a broader statement about where success seems to lie.
“Beat Trump” is what I want but by itself it’s not an idea.
Unlike some I don’t think pissing everyone off is a mark you’re doing the right thing necessarily, but this is where I am, so this is what I say.
1/ the last two presidents have one obvious similarity: both were “unelectable” in primary season, so deemed by the exact people who somehow still have jobs telling us who isn’t electable.
they’re paid to talk; I don’t know why anyone would listen for free.
and I only see that willingness on the left as well.
