Again, the context of the wealthiest nation in the world, “how will you pay for it?” is always a question about reasserting existing priorities, not challenging our capacity for something better.
We’re never asked how we’re going to pay for the $3.2 trillion that private insurance controlled healthcare costs, much less the cost of lives lost, the cost of desperate people, the cost of lives lived in insecurity and anxiety.

We’re only ever asked the price of solving it.
Never mind the cost of universal healthcare—what is the cost of living in a nation that refuses to care for its own sick because there isn’t a goddam buck in it?

Let’s have Anderson Cooper ask some corporate shill congressperson THAT question and see how they do.
