Well, you’ve spoken... let’s prepare the telescope for doing a bit of astrophotography ! :-)
Step 1. Prepare the tripod...
Step 2: break your back moving the heaving box with the mount from garage to the backyard (i.e., why do I need a dome, part 1...)
Step 3. Put the mount on the tripod
Step 4. Go back to the garage, take more equipment and bring it to the backyard. Take that thing for getting a proper levelling of the mount
Step 5. Levelling the mount. I’m fast doing this step...
Step 6. Go back to the garage and bring the case with the Skywatcher Black Diamond 80mm (yep, I’m using this one tonight and not my brand new Celestron EdgeHD 8” because of a combination of reasons)
Step 7. Put telescope on the mount. And realise you forgot to put the weight, which is still in the garage...
Step 8. Bring the box with the @zwoasi material, including cameras and ASIAir (which is attached to the weight) from the garage to the backyard
Step 9. Attach weight to the mount
Step 10. Attach finderscope
Step 11. Cable time! Just those I’m going to need now for the Moon, I’ll put the rest (for cameras) later
Step 12. Go to the bedroom and get my backpack with my CANON 5D & rest of astrophotography equipment
Step 13. Attach CANON 5D to the telescope (after attaching adaptor & remote controller)
Step 14. Moving to the Moon and check focus :-)
Step 15. Double check focus (yep, it seems good) & select speed (1/125) and ISO (1600) with level histogram. Ideally it should be a bit darker to start shooting but let my try...
Step 16. Yep, it seems all is OK. That is a single, raw shot.
Step 17. Take MANY shots, that is key for getting a nice final image
Step 18. Always take nice photos of your equipment during twilight. If the Moon and Venus are there, even better ;-)
Step 19. Wait. Just wait and enjoy it. Wait till it is a bit darker and you can clearly see the #Earthshine light in the visible face of the moon that is not illuminated by the sun
Step 20. Paciente gives reward! Here it is the Moon with #earthshine light and a plane! Pity I was taken 1/8s shots and the plane is moved. But there it is!!
(Patience, thanks iPhone for mixing my Spanish and English words...)
(Step n, many hours after).... fighting with the polar alignment having the city at the South is a nightmare... and then get the @zwoasi ASIAir working... it was too late for Orion Neb, but at least I’m trying Carina nebula... individual frame of 60s
