This result is kind of crazy. Biden is far more underwater than Trump in Wisconsin, but voters *still* are completely tied on the two in a head to head matchup
I'll reiterate what I've said several times about Wisconsin: both parties had poor turnout in 2016, both parties have big pools of nonvoters they could tap into in 2020.

We just really don't know what's going to happen there.
Democrats need to do two things.

First, they must absolutely blitz WI in advertising, canvassing, and voter registration. Second, they must also invest heavily in AZ, IA, FL, and NC, so that they have alternate paths to 270 if things go south there.

THREAD: Republicans have to be really, really hoping that the Supreme Court dismisses the Texas ACA lawsuit.

If they decide the whole law has to be eliminated, several things could happen next depending on who wins the 2020 election, but none of it is good for the GOP.
Let's back up and analyze what's at stake here.

Texas and several other states are arguing since the GOP tax bill set the mandate to $0, it's no longer a tax and therefore unconstitutional, and the whole rest of the law is unseverable and therefore should be struck down too.
That's EVERYTHING. Health insurance exchanges, essential benefits, efficiency reforms to Medicare, Medicaid expansion, all of it.

The Texas law is saying that the ENTIRE LAW needs to be thrown out on a technicality. Even parts that have nothing to do with the mandate.

I don't even think the most ridiculous part of this map is all the Safe D states. I think the most ridiculous part is having DC as Safe R.

Why the fuck would an almost entirely African-American and Democratic city vote for Trump? Let alone on a map where West Virginia is blue?
The only way this map could possibly make sense is if this guy is forecasting all white and Hispanic voters vote for Bernie, and all Black voters vote for Trump.

I'm not sure how any sane human being would think that would happen. But at least that would sorta explain this map.

This is just absolute horseshit. Lynching is an act of terrorism designed to terrify people of color out of exercising their civil rights.

Political crimes that target people's federally guaranteed civil rights need federal means of enforcement.
The problem is that @justinamash ignores the complicated and tense history of how lynching has been used to threaten communities of color in ways distinct from regular murder, and how racist state officials have declined to pursue these cases to intentionally weaken civil rights.
I understand @justinamash's argument. He is a skeptic of federal power and believes it's his constitutional duty to keep power as close to the people as possible.

But there is a very strong basis, in federalism, for vesting civil rights enforcement in *all* levels of govt.

Context on the Neubauer-Hagedorn results above, by @BruceMurphyMKE. Points to @DanielBice for retweeting this, since one of Murphy’s arguments is that this campaign reflected diminished influence of @journalsentinel, Wisconsin’s largest newspaper.
Lastly, @SykesCharlie offers his take on how Hagedorn pulled out a narrow victory despite being abandoned by prominent GOP-leaning business groups: It came down to self-identifying Christians buying his claim to be a victim of religious persecution.

More on the #Foxconn boondoggle -- I don't disagree with anything @SykesCharlie says here. We should be clear, though, that although Trump does a cameo at the end of this story, this massive corporate welfare project was a Scott Walker production.
Right from the start, Walker as governor took the view that state government was there to serve business: to cut their taxes, make labor and environmental regulations easy to live with (or dodge), and ladle out incentives with a smile in exchange for the promise of jobs.
