Bill Clinton’s name came up and Rick said that while he recognizes how popular Bill remains with the Black community, for the life of him he still can’t understand why b/c he personally hasn’t liked him since the 90s for various reasons. My response was we have different reasons.
My response was also that this is a function of the MSM both not including our voices but also dismissing and minimizing those voices whenever we speak up with a message that contradicts what mainstream Whiteness and token Black surrogates told them we “should” think.
IOW, you’re more likely to be receiving “cues” on how “Black people think” from the most extreme examples the MSM promotes based on the strength of *their* support for Trump and Bernie. This is how Cornel, Tavis, Nina, Diamond/Silk and Kanye suddenly became the “Black authority.”

Instead of factoring in the unprecedented socioeconomic prosperity and increased representation in government that Black voters enthusiastically supported, they expect us to be more mad about welfare cuts & the “Nino Browns” who were killing us for crack & crash going to prison.
