That's a really dumb assessment. Based on your age you went to college not too long after I did. I took out loans, too. Even if you went to MIT back then there was a more than reasonable chance of paying off your loan before you retired. 1/
The problem with your logic is that it assumes that all things are equal and they're not. In the 1970s a new Chevy and a year of college costed about the same (in fact, college was probably cheaper at most places.) Today the cost of tuition might not even buy a home. 2/
Your logic is totally flawed. The fact that you ignore the outrageous and disproportionate increases in tuition over the past 40 years yet there have been virtually no increases in salaries for workers across America over the same period invalidates your claim. 3/
And because of disproportionate pricing of college in a consumer driven economy, debt college debt places a real and significant drag on economic growth, and it seriously impedes the accumulation of wealth. Those are contributing factors to the diminution of the middle class. 4/
Therefore, college debt forgiveness is an economic stimmulator. That creates jobs, increases production and drives salaries. Those young people WILL be contributing.

Rich people and corporations aren't the only ones who deserve a break. And maybe tuition should be reduced. 5/5
