Let’s be clear, Jesus is not a Democrat, not a Republican, not even an American. Jesus is God incarnate, God the Son, Who offered Himself on the cross, then rose from death, giving eternal life with God to all who believe in Him.
Christians and others who whittle Jesus down to fit their political preferences are blaspheming Jesus’ name and harming the cause of the Gospel in the world.
By all means, be politically active, voice your preferences, vote. But don’t dare to violate God’s holiness by claiming that your puny human philosophies have Christ’s endorsement. God’s Word warns us not to add to or take from that Word.
People who use Jesus to prop up their politics are flirting with hell, diluting the Gospel, bearing false witness, denigrating Christ Himself. In Jesus’ name, stop it!
