Discipline is a muscle.

A fine tuning process.

Its not something that you get & never have to work on again.

Use or lose it.

Everytime you stay true to what you said, despite volatile emotions, the discipline muscle gets stronger
When others discipline you, you get resentment.

When you discipline you, you get confidence...

👇
If others are always disciplining you, then it's time to look in the mirror.

'Why would I look at the mirror. It's their problem. No?'

Not really.

You gotta ask yourself why others keep having to tell you what to do
Remember, there are leaders & followers.

We all have certain moments in our lives when we are followers.

And a very few people have moments in their lives where they are leaders.

Not just leaders of others, but themselves.
'What's the enemy of discipline?'

Volatile emotions.

The nature of the emotions are to change.

And if you think about it, human nature isn't much different than mother nature.

A lot of parallels
'Example please?'

Let's use the ocean.

The waves of the ocean represent your emotions.

The depth of the ocean represent detachment.
The waves of the emotions are always changing.

And it's always changing because the waves are dependent upon the wind.

If the wind is volatile, then the waves are volatile.
In this scenario, the waves represent emotions.

And the wind represents illusions of the ego & circumstances of the external world.
☆The illusion of the ego

This is when you're just chilling. And out of nowhere, you get a thought from back in the days where you felt disrespected.

Emotions go volatile.
☆Circumstances of the external world

This is when you are having a lot of stuff from your environment pulling you in all directions

An annoying co worker, traffic, computer stops working etc.
In either cases, the wind affects the waves.

The ego & environment affects the emotional states.

And that's when today..turns into tomorrow.

And tomorrow turns into a distant memory....
The key is discipline.

That sounds like a boring word.

And since it sounds like a boring word, a lot of people rule it out.

They take themselves out of the ride even before they began
'How do you define discipline?'

Bringing order to chaos.

'That's it??'

That's it. For my definition at least.
Discipline feels like work at first.

But it becomes your safe haven later on.

It's a game when you think about it.

View it that way, otherwise you won't begin
A lot of people get scared into discipline though.

Humans are naturally chaotic creatures.

Bringing order to the chaos seems easy, until you begin.
Here are a few tips I have:

1. Start small.

2. Expect road blocks along the way.

3. Leverage a timer/schedule.

4. Have a big WHY.
1. Start small.

A lot of people do the opposite.

They try to go from a lazy sack of shit to a disciplined winner overnight.

Not happening.

Pick up one new good habit & drop one negative habit.

Keep winning yourself over.

Strengthen the discipline muscle
2. Expect road blocks along the way.

You're rewiring a lot of neural pathways within.

Although you can't see it, the changes are happening.

Expect there to be days when you're not feeling 100.

And do your best to plan around that

You'll feel less rattled bc u are now alert
3. Leverage a timer/schedule.

You don't have to be too specific.

General discipline is a thing.

Ex: mondays, wednesdays & fridays I upload a YouTube video.

No specific time

Having that clarity allows for consistency

Your brain is dumb until you make it smart with guidelines
4. Have a big WHY.

I said earlier a lot of people enter the discipline world after darkness.

No matter what your WHY is...have one.

Is it to build faith with yourself, chase a big vision, build for future etc

Productive acts alone won't cut it
Although you can't see it with your senses, the discipline muscle is there.

Some people haven't worked it.

Chicken legs for the mind.

Others nowadays do it on autopilot.
Keep winning yourself over.

If you can't even lead yourself, you better believe someone will do it for you.

And you can't blame that resentment on anyone other than the tityboy looking at the mirror
Discipline feels like work until it feels like fun.

This muscle is sort of like the fingerprint.

We all have our own unique style.
