From what I've been reading (and correct me where I'm wrong):

- The value of social distancing is to "flatten the curve" - slow down the spread, not eliminate it. If the same number of us fall sick, but not all at the same time, the medical system can handle it (vs collapse).
- Apologies for the gross analogy, but 2 bathroom stalls are enough for an entire office of people on most days, until someone puts a laxative in the morning coffee and everyone has to go at the same time
- Developing a virus may be imminent. Putting the virus through the necessary trials to roll it out to the public would take 12-18 months
- Healthy people have nothing to fear, except being healthy enough that they get infected but show no symptoms, but then walk around spreading the virus to others without knowing it
- "No new cases" means "no new cases have been discovered". It doesn't necessarily mean the virus isn't spreading, it just means we haven't detected any new cases. We'll need to go a few weeks with minimal new cases before we can say this is over in any one city/country
