For the love of God, Muslims, do *not* go to congregational prayers under these conditions. Pray at home, that is what your religion demands. If you insist on going to congregational prayers under these circumstances you are being impious, not pious.
The virus is extremely infectious and people who are newly infected do not show any symptoms. Healthy young people could have the virus but show no symptoms. If even one person at the prayers has the virus, by the end of prayers the number can be in the dozens.
You'll then go back home carrying the virus without knowing, and will pass it to your family. The eldest in your community will be the most vulnerable. And with every case that requires hospitalization, the medical sector clogs up further to the point where it can't function.
If you insist on *still* going to congregational prayers it's either that:
- You really don't understand how serious this is
- You don't care
- You have a twisted and sick understanding of your faith
- All of the above
Look, do you know why the virus spread all across South Korea? Because a single woman flouted quarantine advice and went to... congregational prayers. She infected 37 people. Then the virus really took off across the country. livescience.com/coronavirus-su…
"Whatever God wants will happen". If you say this and then still go to congregational prayers you are not being pious, you're being stupid. In the words of Omar bin Al Khattab: "If you graze your goats on a grassless hill they will go hungry and it will still be what God wills".
What you're doing then is knowingly and needlessly endangering yourself and your community *and* somehow avoiding blame by blaming God for your own mistake, but somehow still act pious. That's not piety, that's a tragically ignorant view of what God is or wants.
