Oslo's local council has asked people who have mild symptoms, even if #COVID19, not to call for an ambulance or go to the ER, but to stay put at home. This is to help the medical sector prioritize the most urgent cases.
This makes intuitive sense. If you do have #COVID19 and have mild symptoms, chances are you'll be fine. If you leave the house and go to the hospital, you can be infected a trail of people in your path - and you don't even require hospitalization.
Better to self-quarantine at home and away from vulnerable people.

When you lose all sense of normal, what makes the difference between who survives and who sinks is, more than anything, the speed with which one abandons their ideas about "normalcy". If you know my story over the last 5-6 years you'd know I know what I'm talking about.
When things radically change, some people's reaction is to desperately want things to be back to normal, even to the point of deluding themselves into thinking things *are* (or can be). "I just want my normal back". These people normally crash.
When you go through a little disruption, you go "I just want my normal back, even if it's not as good". When you go through a major catastrophic ordeal, you go "I didn't go through all of that to settle for shit". I know this intimately.

Back when I lived in the UAE, I had very serious asthma. It almost killed me, twice. I know how it feels to be drowning in your own body. It's a horrible way to go. Many are going through that right now and many more will, many of them away from their family.
And the thing is, there is no super advanced expensive medical device that can save you if only you had enough money. Your body has to respond. Your wealth can guarantee you better access to life-saving medical help, but that cannot guarantee your survival.
Thankfully my asthma is under control and I'm in better physical shape than I've been in the last 10 years. But I fear the worst for the MENA, a region of nearly 700 million people and piss-poor governance by regimes built to suppress, not to save lives.

Everyone will come out of this bruised and blue. Those who are still thinking "how is this going to help my political partisans" don't understand the enormity of what's about to hit us.
When the nation goes to war, people are all gung ho and nationalistic, singing anthems and marching in the streets to support the troops... until the caskets come home. The caskets are yet to come home.
This is an extremely egalitarian virus. It doesn't care about your politics. It doesn't care about your color, race, creed, or whether you're rich or poor. It's going to wash over every country of the world. And it'll expose inequality and ineptitude in a very grotesque way.

1- they said covid is a hoax.
2- I called, 38 seconds into the call they asked me for money.
3- I asked if they have free meals resources, the guy put me on hold and hang up.
I am going to call them again and ask them to pray with me for toilet paper, faster amazon deliveries and a special prayer for someone with a hoarding issue ( @VodkaMuse ) I may record and tweet if I can tweak the voice thing.
$300,000 package minimum commitment to run that many spots.
@Franklin_Graham, I am assuming it is a $2 million blitz campaign with all the networks, online and radio.
Your “ prayer troops” asked me for money under 60 seconds flat.

This thread is my story battling symptoms this last week. They started differently than what has been reported, which caused some confusion and later fear, and might have led to other's exposure. I believe there are a things we (collectively) can do to better combat #COVID
My wife (Melody) and I were exposed to someone that was sick and in our home a few days before we started seeing symptoms. Melody developed a mild fever, headache and was nauseous a little over a week ago. She also had digestive issues.
The next day, I started having the same issues and developed a rash on my biceps that lasted for a few hours. We didn’t think much of it, because these aren’t symptoms commonly described as being related to COVID-19 and we likely exposed other people.

A #COVIDー19 testing story.: a close friend who has been in Asia with a layover in Seoul came home and self-quarantined last Saturday. As of Tuesday she has respiratory symptoms, achy, chills but no fever. Called the #DC DOH who told her to stay home. Call if it gets worse. 1/
2. She stays home. Binges Netflix etc. Wednesday she feels worse. Crap. Tightness in her chest. “I have asthma and I need to see a doctor” she says. “I was in Thailand + on a plane full of people who embarked in Seoul. “Stay home” says DOH #COVIDー19 2/

A small story:

A few times in your life, you have an era which can be summed up by a word. For me, 2014-15 was "Doctors." Virtually every member of my family was not entirely well.
Kid had a stubborn stomach issue which defied logic and easy diagnosis. Consort had a hip problem. My mother was dying in the modern way; expensively and protractedly. As her dogsbody, I would take her to see her doctor, who would change her medicine, which I would go get.
Later that night, irritated that the doctor hadn't fixed her symptoms the way she insisted he do, she would call for an ambulance to go to the ER. She would tell her neighbor not to tell me she had done this. The neighbor would call me. I would race to the ER.
