Damn, just found out that I can't get a leased line.

Well, date for FttP is "hell freezes over first".

5G roll-out is "not happening anytime soon".

Here's hoping for 5G satellite.

Until then, I'll cope with my shitty BT FttC of 8mb on a good day.

... you need to observe that the improvement disappears once you've taken the change away i.e. it's not just simply the act of change which makes any improvement.
It's one of the bugbears I had with a number of culture reports i.e. make this change and performance improves 10% based on these experiments ... but did they test to see that performance disappeared if the change was taken away? .... gronda, gronda.

Me : My phone is a Galaxy 3 (2011). We don't have 4G in my area, so we'll have to use the BT line.

Me : UK, Kent, Romney marsh. We're all hoping Huawei delivers 5G.

Me : I'd rather go for the "less secure" but works service rather than "really secure" because it doesn't work. If China Gov wants my data, it's welcome. It would be nice if China Gov would also manage coronavirus in the UK.

I do love the comments on this thread. It's as if people haven't realised what "delay" means. We're not containing anymore, this is "managed" progression of the virus through the majority of the population. Cattle immunity or Herd or whatever makes you feel comfortable ->
I do find there is an upside. As bizarre as it seems and as much as I disagree with the approach, at least we now have an approach rather than uncertainty. I will (as with most of the UK) contract COVID-19, I will roll the dice and may the odds be forever in your favour.
But now, we can just move on. The advice from Government takes a different form. This is not about stopping, it's about managing. It makes more sense ... well ... maybe sense is the wrong word but at least it has clarity.

Never be alone for days - if you live with family, spouse, roommates (pets don’t count): awesome! If you live alone: make sure you have human interaction every day - hop on a call (with video turned on!) with other people and talk ~30mins about non-work related stuff. 2/n
In the beginning try to follow your previous work schedule. The freedom is awesome, but it’s best to just have the same schedule in the beginning (typically 9-5). Long term you can change this, but do not experiment in the first weeks. 3/n
