£330 billion is a big, reassuring number.

But if the funding is put forward with so many strings attached that nobody will avail themselves of it, that £330 billion is entirely fictitious.

Like the sub £100,000 paid to Windrush victims out of a compensation pot of £570 million.
Or the mere £50,000 handed out from the £150 million pot that formed part of the relief for properties with dangerous cladding like the type on Grenfell Tower.

If you are planning to go to a party, concert or other event tonight, tomorrow, over the weekend or next week, please consider not going. (Big venues are mainly shut down, but not all venues...) A single cluster of people infected can turn into thousands of new coronavirus cases.
You may be young and feel invincible, because you know it hardly affects your age group. But you also know people who are older, or have underlying health conditions such as asthma, and your friends do too. There's a *direct* line between your health and theirs in this crisis.
So please, please, please swallow your disappointment and do the right thing. It might feel like the end of the world - that ticket was *expensive* - but the real end of the world is happening right outside your window, unless we all club together to stop it. Thank you.

Someone close to my heart is in eating disorder treatment. They received word yesterday that the center is switching to telemedicine in light of COVID-19.

Many in treatment are now being denied by insurance companies to continue treatment. Why?

They don't cover telemedicine.
These companies only care about their bottom-line.

Meanwhile, you have folks actively struggling with a deadly mental illness — many of whom are very young — who not only have to switch to an inadequate form of care... they may abruptly lose ALL access to treatment, period.
I'm sharing this for a few reasons. For starters:

1. If you're receiving some kind of mental health treatment in a program setting (IOP, PHP, etc), *please* call your insurance company and ask if they cover telemedicine/what they're prepared to do in light of COVID-19.

I have known Trump for years, and don't have a stake in his political career or the GOP, other than supporting those who do good for the US, and I can say unequivocally that Trump looks far better now than he did 18 months ago, while his opponents have gotten progressively worse.
I have similarly known you @JoeNBC for many years and I can say equally unequivocally that you are barely a shadow of your former self in terms of your reasonability & state of mind. There was a time I used to respect you. You have come totally unglued by Trump hatred. Get well.
