1. I get the impression that the implementation of the Government's strategy is either ill thought out, or is in response to rather than driving how people are behaving - including the devolved governments action.

Frequently they say that details will become available. . .
2. for example, protecting the vulnerable. The idea and recommendation is made, but there seems no detail. They are still working on it.

The same with school closures. I know from headteachers that they have not been warned of the closure. . .
3. I have been told reliably by a head teacher that they were informed of the school closure "in the same way as you were, and with the same level of detail"

If the DoE was aware this was going to be implemented, and there is a strategic plan, why were schools. . .
4. not alerted at least a couple of days in advance? Why weren't they given full detail?

This suggests to me that the decision to close schools in England on Friday was a response to the decisions to do so in Scotland and Wales.

The alternative is that . . .
5. the Govt. was not caught off guard, and had a strategy, then it did not include a proper pre-warning to schools or briefing on detail.
It seems inadequate head teachers had to learn from the news and press briefing that their school will close in two days time. #coronavirus
6. The scientists, epidemiologists and virologists are providing best advice and working hard. It is the politicians that then implement the measures to counter the virus. That is emerging as the weak point in the UK attempts to counter #covid19UK
7. While schools are to provide facilities for the children of key workers, schools have yet to be told what classifies as key jobs, or what they are to provide. On Monday they will be taking those kids in - without knowing who they are or how many there are.
