It's all feeling a bit World War One.

Incompetent, arrogant, out-of-touch leaders, denying the scale of the crisis, then sending their troops over the top without good defences.

Health workers are dying because they don't have the necessary equipment.
Boris Johnson always wanted to look like a wartime leader.

He does.

Not Winston Churchill. Douglas Haig.
Several historians have pointed out that my comparison of Boris Johnson with Douglas Haig is unfair ... to Douglas Haig. I'm happy to stand corrected.

I'm looking for the best examples of citizens' initiatives on the Covid19 crisis, pre-empting government action, from around the world.
In other words, people working together to contain the pandemic and support each other through it.

Another UCP communications staff pushing for Notley & NDP to drop all criticism of UCP attack on healthcare, contracts and planned budget cuts to healthcare and public health.
@BrockWHarrison the UCP is unconscionable. They should resign en masse. Immediately!

Notley & NDP are speaking up to give Albertans a fighting chance.

Yet you still cling to your divisive rhetoric and insinuations.
The UCP are exacerbating the impact of the virus and it’s known health complications.

Anyone who cares about the citizenry would immediately halt all budget cuts, contract negotiations and reinstate as many nurses as possible. We need all hands on deck.

last thing; @Lollardfish's been talking about how Meghan McCain has become this spokesperson on Jewish issues, where she gets to be the public voice saying what it is to be Jewish even though she isn't. 1
It's another sign of the way the (always shaky) consensus against antisemitism on the right is eroding. 2
lack of representation in media is a hallmark of discrimination for many marginalized groups; it hasn't really been something Jewish people had to worry about in quite that way. 3
