In last few months our kid has been through divorce, grandparents dying, and now COVID. Through it all has been Cabbage. For him, for all of us.

It is fine—and encouraged by state/Local Ca officials —to get outside so long as humans who are not of the same household keep at least a six-ft distance, and you mind all the hand washing /surface contaminants advice. Going totally stir crazy will not help you endure.
Go at odd hours, go to the huge parks that are under utilized, like McClaren. Go to remote parts of Tilden. Walk random parts of your neighborhood. Avoid getting too close to people but smile at them. This is not that hard.
If you don't know where to hike, check out @AllTrails. Do part of the crosstown trail. But honestly just walk any neighborhood, stick away from crowds, and feel ok about dodging away from people—with a smile and a nod. nytimes.com/2019/11/18/tra…

I will watch this Trump COVID-19 presser so you don't have to.

Thus far, his worst misinformation tends to come at the top. Miracle drugs, DPA for ventilators, hospital ships, freeing Austin Tice, tons of masks on way---NONE OF THAT HAS BEEN TRUE.
Trump spent the morning doubling down on the truly dangerous myth of anti-malarial and other drugs. I expect he'll do that in presser. Here I get into why that is grossly irresponsible

People keep saying that failing to impeach lowers the bar for all future presidents.

It doesn't. It lowers the bar for all future GOP presidents and ONLY GOP presidents.

Democrats simply don't have it in them to do what the GOP is doing right now.

If all this had happened during the Obama Administration, a sizable number of Democrats would have joined the process in earnest and would have been willing to vote to impeach.
If a future Democratic president violates the Constitution in a similarly egregious matter, the Democrats will, again, engage in the impeachment process in earnest.

In short: I think we need to be more open as a community to constructive dialogue. THREAD.🧵
With the primary, people in our community support different candidates. That is normal. We should be open to the fact that different people have different ideas about how to solve the climate crisis without resorting to "they are deniers" or "they are fossil fuel hacks."
This isn’t just happening to a few men quoted in a recent article. In the past two weeks, I have been told I’m "not an energy expert" that my concerns about feasibility are akin to "climate denial” or that I am "spreading misinformation."

It sure seems like Sheryl Sandberg lied and tried to cover it up with a statement on Thanksgiving Eve. It's extremely disappointing behavior from anyone in a leadership position as crucial as hers. It's also hard to extricate from her role as the 'Lean In' woman.
I've been reading and thinking a lot about Sandberg's role in all this. There's a lot to discuss re: Zuckerberg's management as well. But as a young professional woman in media/tech who spent time discussing Sandberg's strategies with other women, her role is potent here.
