I’m sorry, but this is honestly the dumbest thing I’ve ever read. It’d be great if the Wall Street Journal would stop misinforming its readers by publishing this kind of nonsense.
Laffer & Moore support “a pro-growth tax cut, such as a suspension of the payroll tax” b/c it would “give 27 million small businesses an incentive to fire rather than fire.”

WHAT INCENTIVE IS THERE TO HIRE WHEN YOUR CUSTOMERS ARE QUARANTINED AND GOVT IS REQUIRING YOU TO CLOSE?

Day 2 of my wife feeling sick: low-grade fever, cough, chills. She has a co-worker, who she sometimes worked on the same floor with, who already tested positive for COVID-19.

You'd think this would make her a good candidate to get tested, but no. Still almost no testing in NY.
Her doctor doesn’t want her to come in, for fear of potentially infecting others. Same with Urgent Care. And she was advised not to get tested at an ER, because, if she doesn’t have it, there’s a good chance she’d get it there.

We need drive-through testing centers. Now.
Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. Also thanks to everyone who's let us know that there *is* a drive-through testing facility at Jones Beach in Long Island. We've been trying to make an appointment over the phone, keep getting disconnected after being on hold for an hour...

This is flat-out wrong, and it should be embarrassing — and, more to the point, hugely concerning — that Bloomberg believed it.
Randy Kroszner, a conservative, GWB-appointee to the Fed, found no evidence that the Community Reinvestment Act, which outlawed redlining, was behind the 2008 crash. blogs.wsj.com/economics/2008…
Bloomberg has been consistently wrong about the 2008 crisis. He blamed Congress for it a second time when he said that it happened because they also pushed Fannie and Freddie to lend to poor people. This is also demonstrably false. thinkprogress.org/mayor-bloomber…

Think about how much the Republican Party’s complete & utter corruption is taken for granted: We’re not hoping that evidence of Trump’s obvious guilt will get 20 of them to remove him. We’re hoping that 4 of them will even allow that evidence *to be heard*.
I think it’s important to point out that the more cynical you’ve been about what the Republican Party would do at any point in the last 10 years, the more accurate your predictions about their behavior would be.
Which is to say: anyone who thought Republicans actually cared about deficits or character or anything other than cutting taxes for the rich & regulations for polluters has been shocked at the last 4 years. Anyone who saw them for what they were back to the Bush years is not.
