Tesco’s at South Quay & Millharbour also OK, delivery truck outside Millharbour Store so will improve when unloaded
Chocolate Easter eggs in plentiful supply as well
ASDA Isle of Dogs at 5.30pm lots of food of different types but no toilet paper

ASDA IoD had a special shopping session for the vulnerable & NHS staff from 6-9am today after some time of difficult shopping
@EhtashamulHaque & I helped after checking with ASDA managers yesterday, it went OK but the thread is about lessons learn't this morning

a/ Number of shoppers was down on yesterday, so a number of people got the message to stay away, thanks to them
b/ ASDA had extra security on the door, checking people & only allowing people in batches, big help
c/ Ehtasham Haque & I stayed outside to help organise crowd
2/
d/ a number of people did leave queue after being told for vulnerable only, thanks to them
e/ small group of people, were not co-operative, did not maintain social distance, were argumentative but they were kept out, lucky only small group & they were let in later after others

Last night I asked Tower Hamlets Council to pulp the latest edition of 'Our East End' newspaper
Dated March 2020 but it does not mention the words: flu, virus, coronavirus, Covid-19 anywhere, no health advice in it
I asked to re-issue with latest advice

NHS advice about coronavirus dates from at least before 13th February, I tweeted about it on that date
Our East End contains stories from after 19th February
Tower Hamlets Council since 2013 has been responsible for Public Health in the Borough
It has large public health team

So why did they not put in anything about the virus?
But Our East End only names Mayor Biggs 18 times, the least mentions in last 8 editions, progress!
And I am in the ironic situation of having called for it to be shut down now asking for a special Covid edition

Tomorrow night there is a full Council meeting, with the exception of one question no mention of Covid-19 or the Councils response to it
So @going4golds & I submitted this draft emergency motion so that we can properly discuss the issues & the response plan tomorrow in public

It is a draft feel free to let us know if there should be any changes, deadline tomorrow PM
We have shared it with the Council & other political groups in advance so that they have time to respond with their own thoughts

But @going4golds and I think the Council needs to be more pro-active especially on its comms plan, for example sharing the NHS video on how to properly wash your hands as some people do not know how to do that

In a pandemic, the first rule is to "survive": avoid risk of ruin

Quarantines, democracy, and security theater: a thread.
I've been hearing a lot about WOW LOOK AT CHINA'S LOCKDOWN, WHAT A GOOD EXAMPLE and uhhh we need to have a talk.

*Isolation* works really well. That's when folks are tested, and people with infection are identified & isolated.
Quarantine- sealing off an entire city, neighborhood, building, ship, etc, including both healthy & infected people- has what can generously be described as a mixed record.

It started with him bringing up the attack on my synagogue in Pittsburgh with him adding a side comment about how the incidence of such attacks is up because more people than ever are taking antidepressants. “Really?” I said. /3

Ok I’m going to share a story with you regarding a crisis pregnancy I had many years ago, I have previously shared this story on my own account but think it might be good to revisit it. I was 15 when I became pregnant, 15 when I gave birth too. My eldest is now 27 #togetherforyes
I concealed my pregnancy for 5.5 months, they were very frightening times indeed. I was in school in 5th year in an all girls school. I went back to school three weeks after delivering my baby. This photo is of my and my lovely little one when she was 4 weeks old #togetherforyes
