1) Alright so real talk. I had the opportunity to read a law and the senate bill today. Boss wanted me to look up stuff about the SBA loans. The senate bill congress.gov/bill/116th-con… ties into the recently signed law congress.gov/bill/116th-con… “Families First Coronavirus Response Act”
2) I'm not seeing either as having been crammed full of a bunch of pork. A LOT of money is being devoted to different agencies, especially in the law that started in the House whose job is to apportion that money.
3) From my initial read through, both look relatively clean. The “Families First Coronavirus Response Act” being made law on *checks website* 3/18 means that the Dem talking point about McConnell doing nothing is basically straight bullshit. Received 3/17, passed and signed 3/18.
4) Basically, the minute it hit the Senate, the Families First Coronavirus Response Act from the House went through the Senate at lightning speed and was brought directly to Trump to sign.

It was introduced by a Dem, too.

So, when it was a Dem bill, it was a done deal.
5) It was the Senate bill, introduced 3/19 (literally the day after) by McConnell that the Dems stonewalled, AFTER the act from a Dem in the House "Passed Senate, under the order of 3/18/20, having achieved 60 votes in the affirmative, without amendment by Yea-Nay Vote. 90 - 8"
6) So... Dems were trying to take their act, use it to proclaim they were responding to the crisis proactively, then kill the GOP bill from the Senate.

That's the level of horseshit that they were engaging in.

And now, for the sake of Pelosi's spite, they're delaying it further
7) Again, I want to clarify: With the House Families First Coronavirus Response Act, it was passed at about 1 am on 3/14, took THREE DAYS to arrive to the Senate (received officially on 3/17), and McConnell immediately had the required 2 readings of the bill and passed it 3/18.
8) They even had time for 3 amendment votes, all of which failed, and passed it, all on the 18th.

Then Pelosi and the Dems tried to kill the Senate bill.

This is what we're dealing with.
