In the day & age when we are talking about intelligent ventilation. Where machine learning is integral to understand how to adapt itself to the different demands of individual patients ; we get this abomination from Mahindra & Mahindra group.

They should stick to making bad cars
What starts the breath cycle? What factors influence start of breathing & to what extent?
What maintains the breath? Who controls it?
What cycles of the breath? Again what factors influence or limit cycling off of breath?

What about PEEP?
Mr Mahindra no PEEP for C19 patients ???
Others might be in awe M&M but I do not care for unscrupulous people who are out to make profits out of this war against C19. Are they among them?

How much was your R&D spend on this joke? You can tell me, I have chaired R&D for a very prominent vent manufacturer not long ago.

Is India so short of ICU specialists that you have to take help from puncture shop managers for ideas on ventilator design?

Don't want my inputs ok : but you could have gone to AIIMS or PGI or Jipmer or any other decent place for Intensivist inputs

That is the best bet we have. We as a nation are ages behind(consider it stoneage in medical R&D) especially with regards to ICU, OT, LAB & Diagnostic equipment.

Our equipment manufacturers basically fart & claim it as perfume. Show me one firm with good designs
It is not services, it is manufacturing & it is manufacturing of live saving precision instruments.

Even our copy cat implants are second rate and no manufacturer wants to spend on CE or FDI certification.

And Govt does not care. We spend 63 $/person on Healthcare while
US spends around 10,000$/person & UK around 3000£/person.

On top of it we have idiots in Nithi Ayog think getting something done at lowest price is best.

That is stupid. Quality Healthcare costs money & if people don't want to pay you get wretched expired stuff.

Deal with it.

The point most forgot was the talent behind the machine. Ventilator does not save lives. It is the ICU doctors, nurses, techs who do
We have not yet reached even 0.1% of capabilities of self driven cars with regards to ICU including ventilation.

My company's ACE Embedded Intensive Care Units Pvt LTD efforts has been towards creating a tech platform for running ICUs on autopilot. It has taken 20+ years
to even reach a stage where we are able discuss the possibilities of what we call "Intelligent ICU".
Believe me, people still laugh at me & call me a mad man for using precious recourse towards achieving my dream of Intelligent ICU.

Social distancing is a privilege.
It means you live in a house large enough to practise it.

Hand washing is a privilege too. It means you have access to running water.

Hand sanitisers are a privilege. It means you have money to buy them.
Lockdowns are a privilege. It means you can afford to be at home.

Most of the ways to ward off Corona are accessible only to the affluent.

In essence, a disease that was spread by the rich as they flew around the globe will now kill millions of the poor.
All those who are practising social distancing & imposed a lockdown on themselves must appreciate how privileged we are.

More importantly those who can do it yet still move around infecting others especially the poor are criminals.

Poor cannot afford it please be considerate

Weeks ago the EU announced it would be bulk buying ventilators, protective equipment, face masks and testing kits. They’re doing this under the joint procurement scheme which allows us to bulk buy and save money in doing so. Although we’re no longer in, the EU made space for us.
They asked us REPEATEDLY to sign up with them, in order to get life-saving equipment to us ASAP, after having taken an example off Italy. We ignored them. Our government ACTUALLY cut off OUR noses to spite their face. The UK refused point blank to even take the phone call from EU

Testing has increased but definitely needs to be ramped up more. We have logistic challenges as well as availability of testing kits and trained personnel. The current test is a real time PCR that takes about 7-8 hours for results to be back. Webinar by @India_Alliance on #Corona
Private labs have been designated for testing but a lot more needs to be done. Some have come up with techniques that can bring us results in 2-3 hours but sensitivity and specificity needs to be assessed. We are slowly getting there. Webinar by @India_Alliance on #Corona

Before you address us, @narendramodi, here are a few things for your consideration. Of course, I do see that people are already praising you sky-high for your actions on #Corona:
1) The govt saw Corona coming after infection spread to Korea. Audit ur govt's actions from then on
2) Production of critical doctor - saving equipment and testing kits should have been stepped up. Why didn't your government do it? When will you do it?
3) If your government was aware from mid- January (as a BJP handle claimed), why the dearth of testing kits?
4) Parliament, some Assemblies are still in session. This is ridiculous.
5) NICD/Infectious Diseases experts are not in charge of press briefs. ICMR DG is. Why?
6) Testing should have been opened to all accreditated labs; govt should foot the bill. Even now, not yet
